A witness to the tragedy that happened on August 4, in which Jordan Neely died after being held in a chokehold by Buffalo police officer Daniel Penny, has called the man who recorded the incident “a hero.” The onlooker, who has chosen to remain unidentified, captured video footage of the arrest which ended with Neely losing consciousness. According to the witness, Penny refused to loosen his hold on the young man, despite the desperate pleas of those witnessing the incident. Neely died later in hospital. The witness praises the bravery of Derrick Davis, the man who filmed the incident, for risking his own life by filming the footage.
