So, I read this crazy article about two Wisconsin police officers who were killed during a routine traffic stop. Apparently, the officers pulled over a car that was speeding and driving recklessly, but when they approached, the passenger jumped out and opened fire. The officers didn’t even have a chance to defend themselves. It’s so messed up.
What really struck me about the article is how dangerous a police officer’s job can be. I have a cousin who’s a cop and I always worry about him getting hurt. I can’t imagine how his family must feel. I mean, these officers were just doing their job and trying to keep people safe.
According to the article, police officers are more likely to be killed on duty than people in many other professions. That’s scary stuff. But at the same time, I know there are a lot of good people out there who appreciate what police officers do and support them.
It’s just sad that there are always going to be some bad apples who ruin it for everyone. This incident definitely left me feeling a bit shaken, but I’m grateful for the officers who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.
