I just read this crazy article about some Texas cheerleaders getting shot after one of them mistook a stranger’s car for her own. Apparently, they were leaving a party late at night and this guy who had been following them started shooting at their car. Luckily, no one died, but a couple of them got seriously injured.
From what I gathered, the cheerleader who got shot first thought that the guy’s car was hers and got in the passenger’s seat, but then realized it wasn’t when she saw him. That’s when he started shooting, and the others in the car got hit too. It’s pretty scary to think that something like this could happen just because of a simple mistake.
It’s also insane how many gun-related crimes there are in Texas. Whenever I go visit my family there, I always feel like everyone is packing heat. It’s just not a place I feel safe in, no matter how much fun I have with my cousins.
Overall, I think this story is a good reminder to always be aware of your surroundings and double-check that you’re getting into the right car. It’s also a sad commentary on the state of gun laws in our country. It’s way too easy for anyone to get their hands on a firearm, and innocent people are paying the price for it.
