Space Force general admits she lets 'anti-LGBTQ+ laws' impact hiring decisions — resulting in 'less qualified' personnel

I just read this crazy article about a Space Force general who openly admitted that she lets anti-LGBTQ+ laws impact her hiring decisions. Basically, she’s choosing less qualified personnel because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Can you believe that?

The article talks about Brig. Gen. Paul Friedrichs, who testified in front of Congress about how she’s abiding by the Trump-era ban on transgender people serving in the military. She clearly stated that applicants who are openly transgender or who require hormone therapy would be disqualified, regardless of their qualifications. And it’s not just her, apparently other members of the military are doing the same thing.

Personally, I think this is just ridiculous. People should be judged based on their skills and abilities, not their sexual orientation or gender identity. Plus, excluding qualified and experienced personnel means we’re not getting the best people for the job, which could potentially harm our national security.

On top of that, I recently learned about the struggles my LGBTQ+ friends go through in their everyday lives. It’s incredibly unfair that they have to face discrimination and exclusion in their personal lives and now in their professional lives as well.

Overall, this article is a wake-up call for us to speak out against discrimination and advocate for equal rights. We need to make sure that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, has access to the same opportunities and the chance to serve their country if they choose to do so.
