Hey! So I just read this crazy article about REI, and I had to share it with you. Basically, REI is closing its only store in Portland because of break-ins and theft. It’s nuts!
Apparently, the store has been dealing with a lot of crime over the past few years, and they finally decided enough is enough. They’ve had to spend a ton of money on security measures, like cameras and alarms, but it still wasn’t enough to deter thieves.
It’s really too bad, because REI is a great store. I remember going there with my family when I was younger, and we always had a blast picking out new outdoor gear. But I can imagine how frustrating it must be for the employees and customers to deal with all the crime.
I think this article is important because it shows how even big companies like REI can fall victim to crime. It also highlights the importance of investing in good security measures to keep people and property safe.
Overall, it’s a bummer that the store is closing, but hopefully, REI will be able to find a new location that’s safer and more secure.
