PETA Dunks LeBron James for Serving Milk at Player's Ohio Community Center

So, I came across this article that’s pretty damn hilarious - PETA is coming down hard on LeBron James for serving milk at a community center in Ohio. Apparently, they’re upset because of the unethical practices of the dairy industry, and they think that LeBron should be promoting plant-based alternatives instead.

Basically, PETA is claiming that the dairy industry is cruel to cows and calves, and they’re not wrong. I mean, as someone who grew up in the middle of nowhere, I’ve witnessed firsthand the unfortunate treatment of dairy cows on small family farms - I can’t even imagine what goes on at larger-scale operations.

But this whole situation with LeBron feels a bit over-the-top. Like, okay, maybe he could have served oat milk or something instead. But let’s be real - most people are going to choose regular milk over a plant-based alternative if it’s available. And I don’t think that trying to shame someone for serving something as innocuous as milk is really going to accomplish anything in the grand scheme of things.

At the end of the day, I think that the issue of animal agriculture and its impact on animals, the environment, and our health is an important one. But we need to approach it in a way that’s productive and inclusive, rather than just calling out celebrities for making what we perceive as the “wrong” choice.

So, that’s my two cents on the matter. Bottom line: Let’s do better by the cows, and also let’s not go after LeBron for serving milk.
