Ooooh, have you heard about the new Disney movie called “Elemental”? Apparently, it’s not doing so well in theaters. According to an article I read by Nolte, it only made $3.5 million on its opening night. Yikes!
Basically, “Elemental” is a sci-fi adventure movie about a group of siblings who gain magical powers after they discover special stones. But despite the cool premise and impressive special effects, it seems like audiences just aren’t interested in seeing it.
Honestly, I’m not too surprised. As much as I love Disney, they’ve had some major misses in the past few years. Plus, with so many other big blockbusters out right now, competing for people’s attention, I can see why “Elemental” might get lost in the shuffle.
It’s a shame, though, because it feels like Disney is trying to branch out and take some risks with their storytelling, which I appreciate. But at the end of the day, it’s still a business, and if a movie doesn’t make enough money, it’s not gonna get a sequel or a spinoff or anything like that.
Overall, I think it’s just an interesting reminder of how fickle the movie industry can be, despite all the talent and resources that go into making a film. And hey, it’s not like Disney is hurting for cash anyway, right? They’ll bounce back.
