Missing Texas soldier found alive after wife's death days earlier, Army says

When Vanessa Guillen, a young Army soldier, went missing in late April, her family was desperate to find her. Despite a months-long search, their worst fears were realized when her remains were found near the Texas military base she was stationed at. But now, in a shocking turn of events, another missing soldier from the same base has been found alive. Private 1st Class Gregory Morales, who had been missing since August 2019, was discovered by police during an unrelated investigation into his death. While the circumstances surrounding Morales’ discovery remain unclear, his family is relieved to finally have some closure. The Army has been criticized for its handling of Guillen’s case, leading some to wonder how many other soldiers like Morales may be missing without proper attention from their superiors. As this story continues to develop, it serves as a reminder of the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make, and the importance of ensuring their safety and well-being both on and off the battlefield.
