So, I just read this wild article about a big protest that went down outside Dodgers Stadium. Apparently, a drag group called The Boulet Brothers put on a show that made fun of Catholics and lots of people were super offended.
From what I gathered, The Boulet Brothers had this whole getup where they dressed up like nuns and did a parody of Catholic traditions. But a bunch of Catholics didn’t find it funny and decided to show up outside the stadium with signs and everything.
The protest ended up being pretty massive, with hundreds of people chanting and singing hymns and stuff. And apparently, it got pretty heated at times – the police had to get involved to keep things from getting too out of hand.
I didn’t even know this kind of thing was still happening these days, but I guess it’s a reminder that people can get REALLY riled up about religious stuff. And as someone who was raised Catholic, I can definitely understand why people would be upset about something like this. I mean, even though I don’t really practice anymore, there’s still a part of me that gets defensive when people mock my religion.
All in all, it’s a pretty interesting story and a good example of how people’s beliefs can clash in unexpected ways. I guess it just goes to show that we still have a long way to go before everyone can get along.
