So, I came across this crazy article about a marine veteran named Daniel Penny who allegedly killed Jordan Neely in a subway. Apparently, he put him in a chokehold and held it there until Neely died. It’s pretty dark stuff.
I don’t know why anyone would do something like that, but it’s even scarier knowing that this guy was a marine veteran. You’d think he’d be trained to handle those sorts of situations without resorting to deadly force.
From what I read, Penny was indicted on multiple charges related to Neely’s death. It’s still too early to say what kind of punishment he’ll receive, but I think it’s safe to say he’s in a world of trouble.
It’s just so sad that this happened. You never know what someone is capable of, and it’s scary to think that anyone could be walking around with such violent tendencies.
I don’t know if there’s really a takeaway from this, other than to be mindful of who you’re interacting with and to always try to defuse situations before they escalate. You never want to be in a situation where things go too far.
