So, I came across this article about a video that went viral. It’s about a “Based Grandpa” who stormed off stage when he was asked to dance with a drag queen. Apparently, he’s a man of God and didn’t want to go against his beliefs.
Basically, it was at a Drag Queen Story Hour event in which drag queens read to kids to promote diversity and inclusivity. The “Based Grandpa” was there to read his own book, but things took a turn when the drag queen asked him to dance.
Some people found it funny, while others were offended. But what struck me is how polarizing this topic is. Religion, gender and sexuality are sensitive subjects, and it’s fascinating to see how society reacts differently to them.
Personally, I think that regardless of what we believe or who we identify as, we should respect each other’s choices and differences. We can agree to disagree without being disrespectful or judgmental towards each other.
In conclusion, this article shows how a simple action can spark a debate on bigger issues. It’s a reminder that we can all coexist peacefully if we choose to be understanding and tolerant towards one another.
