Gov. DeSantis ratifies bill enabling Floridians to carry concealed guns without a permit

So, I came across this article about this new law in Florida that allows people to carry concealed guns without a permit. Crazy, right? Gov. DeSantis recently signed the bill, and it’s already caused quite a stir.

Basically, the law means that anyone over the age of 21 can carry a concealed firearm in public, as long as they meet certain criteria (like not having a criminal record). It’s supposed to be a win for gun rights advocates who argue that carrying a weapon is a basic form of self-defense.

Now, I’ve gotta say, I’m not really a fan of guns. I’ve never fired one, and the whole idea of carrying one around with me makes me kinda nervous. But I do understand why some people might feel safer having that option.

What concerns me, though, is the potential for accidents. Let’s be real: not everyone who wants to carry a gun is going to be responsible with it. And with this law, there’s no requirement for any formal training or education on gun safety.

Overall, I think this is definitely a controversial topic that’s worth keeping an eye on. It’s important to consider both sides of the argument and see how this law plays out in practice. Who knows, maybe it’ll end up being a non-issue. But for now, I’ll stick to pepper spray for my self-defense needs.
