Flashback: Stephen Hawking warned AI could mean the 'end of the human race' in years leading up to his death

So, I read this really interesting article about Stephen Hawking and his thoughts on AI. You know, the brilliant physicist who everyone is familiar with. He had a serious warning for us all before he passed away that AI could potentially lead to the end of humanity. Crazy, right?

In the years leading up to his death, Hawking was very concerned about the potential consequences of creating super intelligent machines that could outsmart humans. He feared that these machines could become uncontrollable and ultimately bring destruction to mankind.

But, it’s not all doom and gloom. Hawking also believed that the future of AI could be positive, as long as we ensure that it’s developed responsibly and with appropriate safeguards in place.

As someone who is fascinated by AI and its potential, this article really caught my attention. It’s exciting to think about what new technological advancements could be made with AI, but at the same time, we can’t ignore the potential risks that come with it.

Overall, I think it’s important for all of us to be aware of the potential dangers of AI and for those in the tech industry to take responsibility for ensuring that future developments are safe for both society and the planet.

On a lighter note, I can’t help but think of the classic sci-fi movie, The Terminator. You know, the one where the robots take over and try to destroy all of humanity. Maybe Hawking watched that movie and it gave him some serious inspiration for his thoughts on AI!
