As the U.S. election approaches, allegations continue to surface regarding Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. A recent article on The New York Post claims to reveal evidence that Hunter Biden brokered deals with Ukrainian company Burisma in order to profit from his father’s position as Vice President. Now, an ex-Obama staffer is backing up these claims. Tara Reade, who herself has accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993, told Fox News that she believes Hunter Biden’s role at Burisma was due to his father’s influence in the Obama administration. Reade says that she was “aghast…to see that Hunter Biden was taking such a huge monthly payment for what appeared to be a no-show job,” adding that “all the hallmark signs of corruption were there.” The Biden campaign has denied any wrongdoing on Hunter Biden’s part and dismissed the article as a “smear campaign.” However, with just over a week to go before the election, the allegations are sure to have an impact on voter opinions. The controversy has once again put a spotlight on the issue of political corruption, which has been a major topic of discussion in recent years.
