So, I came across this crazy article titled Disney’s Star Wars $5,000-a-night nerd hotel fails fantastically, and boy was it a doozy. Basically, Disney built this insanely expensive hotel that was supposed to be the ultimate Star Wars experience. It was supposed to transport guests to a galaxy far, far away and immerse them in the world of Jedi, lightsabers, and the Force.
But it turns out the hotel was a total flop. Apparently, guests found the whole thing to be kind of cheesy and not worth the exorbitant price tag. Plus, there were a ton of technical difficulties with the attraction that made the experience less than magical.
Honestly, I’m not surprised. I’m a huge Star Wars fan myself, but dropping five grand for a few nights of cosplay and mediocre special effects seems like a waste to me. Plus, there are so many more authentic and immersive ways to experience the Star Wars universe than spending a night in a Disney hotel.
All in all, this article just reinforces the importance of doing your research and thinking critically before shelling out big bucks for an experience. At the end of the day, you’re better off going to a Star Wars convention or taking a themed trip to Tunisia where they filmed the original trilogy. May the Force be with you, but not at a $5,000 premium.
